G-Rad Posted December 2, 2011 Author Report Posted December 2, 2011 I may do a temporary amp for the time being, like say a BRZ2400.1D ran at 2 ohms, then while using that, save up for an Alpine or Fosgate or something like that. It helps knowing I know a couple people who'd gobble up that Brutus if I told them I was selling one, at the drop of a dime. But I understand your feeling if you have the sub now and are really excited to hear it. Still...I'm the type to wait. Now, I run a lot of Crescendo amps and they handle playing at .5 ohm very well. But they are not warrantied any longer since many inexperienced users were wiring down without electrical upgrades or the knowledge of knowing when to back off. As long as you know that, I say might as well do the BC2000. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Found out lastnight that it was a D1, which changed up everything. That's why I'm in the spot i'm in. But yeah, it does fall into the catergory of bad planning; moreso premature planning. who did you get it from, if a company messed up which coil they put in, thats on them to fix it. My visual disabilities make it complicated for me to do much so I'm on a fixed income, unless I get an install job. I am fortunately happy to do what I can with what I have. My thought though is, my cousin will probably get stupid and not think before trying to show off my system to his friends (more than likely without my permission, of course), just turn on the stereo, no car, crank, and pop the amp. It's probably best to just do 2 ohms on a stronger amp, say a the BC3500, or the Alpine M2000. ChevyBoy, No, it's not from a company, but from a person.
