Bad wiring or Bad Alternator?

Recommended Posts

Lol this is done so wrong. Like the guys said the starter has nothing to do with the big 3. Add a 0awg wire from alt to batt pos and the problem should be fixed if everything else is correct. Always good to do research before attempting to change/add anything.

If you had the time to take it to the mechanics and back then you woulda had time to do the big 3. Its pretty simple and doesn't take long if you have easy access to the alt

Dude, I ain't going to explain my life to you. I just didn't have time. Okay, so please just drop it. This statement had nothing to do with the question..so I don't even know why you bring it up.

the big 3 can be done in under 5 minutes, literally, if you have easy access to the alt.. now im sure the drive to the mechanic took longer than that, the guy was trying to be nice about it..

but if you have no mechanical knowledge, and have no idea how to do things on your own is another story..

you wasted 208$ on literally a 5 minute job...

he was being nice, if you couldnt do it because you were scared, or didnt have tools is another thing, no need to say you didnt have time, because thats BS...

5 min to do the big 3 > 10-20 min drive and -208$, you decide which is more time consuming....

To Fmedina, I apologize for what I said yesterday. I had a bad day and I took it out on you. Once again, I apologize.

-Truth, was too scared to mess something up, so I payed someone to do it.

Another question, does the fuse have to be within 12-18" from the battery...because my spark plugs are in the way and I don't want the magnetic field of the positive wire bothering with my spark firing so I have to make the cable like 6 ft long. I have a piece of 1/0 that's ~2.4 feet long and was wondering if I can put my fuse at the end of that.

and part of the cost out of the $208 was from installing the alternator and a new serpentine belt.
