When I was 16 (last year) I had 1 12" Walmart Pioneer in a prefabbed box that I could fit under my damn seat if I wanted to. It was powered by a Boss 400 watt 4 channel amp. Maybe 100 watts was going to that sub. I threw a Sony Xplod in a bigger box and put it next to my other one. It was stupid as hell now that I think about it, but I know I would upgrade. So I sold the Sony xplod and box for $100 to a friend, dont ask how I managed to get that much out of it, haha. I found a Boss 1000 watt amp 2 channel in my garage, my dad thought it was blown. So I hooked it up and it worked. I was pounding on that one sub all the way to Walmart to pick up a matching Pioneer lmao. Then I went to Lowes and picked up a sheet of MDF. Then to my friends house to start building the box. I built a damn truck box that wasn't tuned right at all, but it sounded alright. Tuned to 42 hz or something. Once I got matching subs in a good ported box, it started to sound cleaner and louder. My friends brother was an idiot and traded me his Kicker 250.2 for my 1000 watt 2 channel. What he didn't understand was my amp wasn't putting out 1000 watts. Maybe 100 watts per sub lmfao. So I put that amp on it and continued to improve. I cleaned my wiring up and was finally up to a 131 DB. lmfao. After I got a job, I decided to go big. I got a Memphis C312 for $150, 3 payments of $50. I bought an Audiopipe AP15001D. 1500 watts RMS, true power. it starts to clip at about 1400 rms however. Anyways, I got me another sheet of MDF and built a box and console inbetween my seats. I burped a 140.3 Db with that amp turned up halfway. Now I am rebuilding again, with a DD2512 Supercharged and a new box, again. My point is, I started off from shit, and am looking to hit a mid 140 after I do my electrical upgrades and finish this build. Well, finish meaning until I get bored and do a 4 12" blowthrough or something, lmfao. Anyways, in a year and 4 months I went from my stereo sounding like midbass to breaking my rearview mirror off and making my friends' ears tickle. I have 2 first place trophies and a 3rd place trophy. I have only competed in 3 competitions. Haha! I would start off getting a pair of matching subs and a single subwoofer amp. Then a good 4 channel and good components. My components are great and don't require a lot of power, 150 rms. Rockford Fosgate prime 3 ways. I paid $45 for a pair on ebay. You will see a great improvement. Build a box that will give the subs ideal room, and Go ported. (classifieds and such) yeahh.. i think im going to sell my stuff and try to get better stuff.. but damn man everyone on here is like hating i didnt say shit about my system is bad ass or anything and all they do is talk shit.. whats up with that.. i just wanted help and yeahh i think im gonna try to do that anyone got any suggestions as far as amps and subs go Don't sweat it man. I understand where you're coming from. When I was 16 I was piecing together anything I could get my hands on. Some people will talk shit on anything. System looks good. You got the fever, now let the system progress as your wages progress. Good work! Good work! yeahh so what should i try and buy! cause my budget will be pretty high like i have 5 diffrent amps to sell 4 12s and 1 15! so my budget will be like $1500 maybe more! i saw tahoexfixssd's 99 silverado how much do you think that will cost.. i could make the box and stuff but the amps its 4 Fi btl's! i was thinking of trying to do that and yes i am ripping out that back seat!
Guest Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 there is no way in hell you're gonna be able to do 4 btl's if your budget is $1500. the woofers alone will almost take up the entire amount. for anything over like 2500 watts you WILL need an aftermarket alternator, which in itself is about $500. not to mention the batteries which will be another $500 probably. with $1500 (for just woofers and electrical and amps), i would do probably like 2 dc level 4's (12's or 15's, whichever you can fit without squeezing for space) on an audioque 2200 or crescendo bc2000. big 3 in 0 gauge and an xs power d3100 in the trunk with a compatible-sized xs power for under the hood if you have enough money. i didnt price anything out, but all of that SHOULD be around $1500 give or take.

And try not to mix different bass amps and 2 different subwoofers. And having something like tahoefixssd is gonna cost money...not to mention the work...he is one of the best fabricators on this site.
