No more speeding for me. KenC210 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I have pled not guilty on 3 of my speeding tickets. They will need proof you were speeding and it requires a lot of time and paper work for the officer so they normally wont show. If they show up you need to prove you werent speeding (if they have proof). Also prima facie evidence is good if your judge will allow it. It basically means you need to justify the speed your going was at a safe speed. Usually 5-8% over is a good guide line of safe speeds. Out of those 3 i had 1 officer show up and he looked stupid when i pled with prima facie evidence i was going 67 in a 55 on a open road clear day no other vehicles either. Ram1989custom Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I was going to be late for school, so I took dirt roads because my school was in the country-ish, and I lived 15 miles away from there. The road I took turns to asphalt for about a mile, then I turn onto the highway that the school is on. Well, right after I hit asphalt I stepped on it. The cop that was hiding behind the tree row in his yard radaring caught me doing 96 in a 45. Bless his heart, he gave me a verbal warning and signed off for an excused tardy. I was going to have a $580 ticket and a detention for being tardy my second time to first hour. Phew! Still barely beats the fact that I drifted my moms Mustang and barely clipped a curb, through 2 yards. Destroyed 4 fences. Got a $549 ticket, but the judge let me off, not on the record. KenC210 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 how bout the it wasnt my car n no insurance on it.it was my mas car cuz mine broke down. with no insurance on the car you screwed on that deal and here in texas you have to pay over 150 per month for 3 years with for insurance on car if you dont pay your license is suspended for 6 years. but if the car was covered it shouldnt matter whos driving as long as you got the permission to drive the car. If cars covered with insurance you are good. but you could check state laws to see if there is any difference.
