Secondary Batteries- How Many D3100's?

Recommended Posts

Ok. Need some opinions on how many D3100's I will need. Here's my setup, etc..

YellowTop Primary batt. (mids & highs will get power from this).

Dual Alts (12v, 1 270amp & 1 350amp, both will charge batts).

Sub Amps- 2 Soundigital 5k's.

Daily Rap/ R&B (mostly while car is running).

Space isnt a problem.

I already have an idea on how many but I just wanted 2nd opinions. Also, would it be better to wire as 2 seperate banks of batts for the 2 sub amps or 1 big bank, or does it even matter? Thanks in advance Nathan & guys...

i would do 1 big bank man, you dont want to drain the batts at different rates if they are strapped to the same alts

This could be true & I thought about that as well... any other opinions on this anyone?

I would recommend running 4 D3100 in one bank, but I would suggest trying this in steps. I would suggest getting 2 D3100 to start with and see how they perform under your use. 2 probably will not be enough, but you never know. Then if 2 doesn't keep you in the voltage range you want to be in I would suggest getting a third D3100 and see how that works for you.

This way if you find that 2 or 3 does fine for you, then you dont have to spend more money on batteries.

Ok. Thanks Nathan. That sounds like a plan. I'll try that..

If anyone is running a couple SD5k's or a single SD5k, I'd like to hear what you guys are using & what your voltages hold at...
