DODGE-BASSHEAD25 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 I just recently got these Kicker 04S10L7(4) Dual 4 ohm voice coil 10" L7's. I have a Kicker ZX300.1 and I dont think this amp has enough power for these subs. So I am asking for suggestions on what amp I should use. I would like to stay with Kicker but any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks Guys!!!!!!!!!! adreano17 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 FUCK KICKER AMPS. i know alot of people don't like the quality of hifonics, but it works for me. and that is what i have. look into the new brutus models. if money is not really a factor. i would highly recommend the soundstream tarantula 2000. i was going with this for my 2 l7s, but opted for the cheaper hifonics brutus 1700. perfect fit. Purplehaze Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Well the first thing I would do is to throw that box in the garbage, and build a proper enclosure for them. If you want to stay w/ Kicker, you could try the ZX1500.1, although since your subs are d4's, you would have to wire down to 1 ohm, and It depends on the box, and the electric, whether or not a Kicker amp will run at 1 ohm. If it were me, I would think of maybe getting a Powerbass 1500.1, they are inexpensive, and put out more than rated, according to fecupe and his amp challenge. Or maybe a BRZ1700.1, they do okay too. notorious97200 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Kicker amps are not stable at 1 Ohm, so you need to look for another brand. On the cheap, look for Audiopipe, Clarion, or even used amp. I don't know how much cost a Powerbass 1500.1, but I've only heared good thing about this amp. Good luck ! black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.
