ExtremeOz Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Im looking at putting 2 15s in my 2 door hatch back but was wondering what would be the absolute minimum cu per sub be that people would use? Right now i have 1 15 in a box thats 4.5cu tuned to 32hz. I want to try keep the box the same size as if i make the box any bigger ill have to pull the backseats out and i really dont want to do that IF i can avoid it. Also what if i was to go sealed to fit them in would it be worth it?

Well right now im feeding it 1500w at 2ohm when i put both in id be dropping them down to 1hm so about 3100w. There both DD9515 dual 4s.

Your subs like big boxes from what I've seen in various tests. Socky Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 im running two 15's in a 4.5 cube box, it is punchy and has decent low output, but unloads on anything lower than 30 hz and its tuned to 35, but that being said, the box was made for low xmax subs to fit in a car, now its in my jeep. If i were you, the smallest i would do for 2 15s is 6-7 cubes min. Jeep Cherokee 4dr -4.75 in front, new rusty's 4.5 in rear leafs -micky thompson 35x14.50x15 -locker rear -Rusty's offroad Engine/transmission/transfer case/crossmember/gas tank skid plates -Warn front bumper with 8000lb winch -Custom rear bumper -Warrior product tube doors (summertime) -Optima redtop (starter) -26XK miles and still runs like a bat out of hell Kenwood H/U 1/0 wire, 136 amp alt 200 ah batteries 12.7 daily 2 Apsm 1500 @ 2 ohm strapped on zv3 d1 with ns softparts Mb quart 125.4 wired to 4 aura 6's 3.6 cube box tuned to 36 plays down to 23hz
pa-pa-platypus Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 that and i cant imagine a dd 9515 liking a sealed box at all..i wouldnt personally ever put one in a sealed box..theyre just not designed for it..and like the others said i wouldnt go blew 6 cubes net on those subs..good friend of mine had 2 of the same subs in a 6 cube box and they loved BUT he was feeding them double the power you would be (around 6k rms) so for ur amount of power i would do around 7-8 cubes if u can fit it This isn't teeball. YOU DO NOT GET A TROPHY JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOW UP. Put the work in and then maybe get the respect when it has been earned 151.6 with single 12 at 41 hz 153.2 with 2 12's at 43 hz power: dd m4
