So where should the tuning be? with the numbers i've got right now i'm at...

8.13 sealed before displacement of bracing

17.52 ported after sub and port displacement

17.19 area per foot

48.06hz tuning

2.16:1 ratio

that looks good bring the sealed side up a little.

get closer to 1.5 per sub

I mean... that'd work lol I'm just making it on sketchup for the fellas.

got some new number due to having to change the port. Didn't change much at all tho..

8.13 sealed before

17.56 after sub and port

17.30 port area per foot

48.44hz tuning

2.16:1 ratio still

You guys are not factoring in the displacement of the wood.

My figures were correct, trust me.

Check them again, I took out the wood when I made this up. .75" on the sealed and .75 on the ported.

You guys think I don't got this or something?

Jk, thanks for all the helpful advice! :drinks:

Okay, so I came up with some new numbers, same design. See what you guys think of this one?

External: W 47" L 68" H 18"

Internal: W 45.5" L 66.5" H 16.5"

Sealed Inside:

W 7.208"

L 66.5"

H 16.5"

4.08ft3 x2

1.35ft3 per sub after displacements

Ported Inside

W 29.583"

L 66.5"

H 16.5"

16.89ft3 after port, sub, and bracing

2.81ft3 per sub

Port

H 14"

W 18"

L 6" - 3" external

14.92in2 port area per foot

252in2 port area total

46hz tuning

I just went over all of this again, and it is all correct. :drinks:

Does the polyfill really work? What's the theory behind that?

polyfill basically slows down the waves. so creates less pressure.

therefore it basically tricks the sub into thinking the box is bigger than it really is
