If you're going to rattle can it, good luck finding good bright pink spray paint.... But..... If you do find some, I recommend sealing off all the open edges of the box with bondo or wood filler. MDF sucks up paint like a fat bitch, so when you seal it, it prevents that. Some people put a thin coat of bondo on the entire box, then sand it smooth, then paint.
