SA-12's Sundown audio. amp?

I may be getting these Sundown D2 SA-12 inches.. im wondering what would be an optimal amp for these? and if that amp id pretty pricey.. whats a more affordable alternative, that will be using these subs to their potential

If it's a pair of d2s then I suggest you run them wired to 2ohm. A kicker zx 1500.1 or alpine mrp 2000 would be great for them wired at 2ohm.

Im SUUUPPER new at this car audio stuff.. but ye i notice the D4 and the D2 are reliant/determine your amp. What else is a big factor? WATTAGE?

BTW "RMS" i know its important what is it? and whats it stand for?

RMS means Root Mean Square but only means what your amp or sub can continuously do for an extended amount of time at a specific voltage level.

A big factor would be alt and batt. You need to know how much they can handle and make sure the draw from your system doesn't kill em. What kind of car are you planning on doing this in?

First of all, unless get a stupid good price, don't buy mainstream shit, it's just name. AQ2200, Crescendo bc2000, just a couple off the top of my head, good quality stuff and do rated power

can you get d4s? that is what you will want, So you can find a nice amp like a Sundown sax 1200 and wire the 2 subs 1ohm.

You can wire one sub at 1ohm and one sub at 4 ohm and wire the subs parallel with will come out with a 1.33ohm load. so get a 2k @ 1ohm amp... Crescendo BC2000D

this is not universally true. There are definitely good reasons to buy mainstream equipment. Just like there are good reasons to buy some of the brands you listed. Some are not 'just" a name, they also happen to be really good pieces of equipment.
