alaskanzx5
you could do a box that is 18"h x 28"w x 18" d with the port being 16.5"h x 3"w x 30 l. that gives you 2.81 cu ft before sub displacement and the port would be 17.62 cu in per sq foot before sub discplacement. im not sure on sub discplacement but i would say right around .2 so you would have .11 of air space you could take up for bracing. i would recomend atleast bracing the baffle. Joe X
Based on Kicker specification (checked to be as you list above) here is a design suggestion, the size of the port parts are included: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 39,807 Hz Vb = 2,5 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Front Mounted External Height = 14,75 in External Width = 27,37 in External Depth = 16 in Port Width = 2 1/2 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front & Back = 27 3/8 x 14 3/4 Left & Right Sides = 14 1/2 x 13 1/4 Top & Bottom = 27 3/8 x 14 1/2 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 12 x 13 1/4 Extension = 1/2 x 13 1/
carshateme
Designed accordingly to what kicker recommends. Flush sub mount, can be added. Quote New build coming soon. WadeTustian
Designed accordingly to what kicker recommends. Flush sub mount, can be added. wow thanks for that. i went with that box that i posted up above, i did make it 16 inches tall rather then 14.5 and its coming along nicely, i used box calculator and it says that its tuned to 34hz and that site said it was tuned to 33. I'm just worried about bracing, is that the only place i should brace or should i brace another place also Quote 2007 Mazda 3 Sedan Pioneer 80-prsB2 Zero.7 2 15s 4inch coil psi recones temp til my subs are reconedFocal P165-v15Audison voce quattro fully activeOnly gonna get louder 146.1 at 38hz 138.x at 24hzBuild log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/191444-mazda-3-sedan-sql-build-audisonfocalb2aa/
carshateme
Well if you want to over kill on bracing, you can add one on both sides of the subwoofer, but it may not be necessarily. 412 CVX
you really shouldn't need the brace in the port unless the sub is firing up. it's an L5, i'm assuming not seeing that much power. my buddy overpowered his 10" L5's in the standard kicker box, and had no problems.. if anything i'd do a double baffle Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
