How he had done it was interesting. Although I can't speak to what would be better or worse since I don't know what amp he has. IF it's 2 ohm stable bridged, wire it like you have it. Mono amps are internally bridged so you have two pos and two neg on the amp so you don't have to try and stuff wires in twisted together.. Mono amps only have one channel, so they can't be bridged. They do have usually have two sets of speaker inputs that are internally wired in parallel.
