Anytime you go into anywhere too dim to detect it the lights will just come on and off. I would just wire a switch up to the LED's and cut them on manually or splice into your headlight wire and have it come on when the headlights are on (unless you ride around with your headlights on during the day. You could always take one of those home outlet timers and convert it and make your own custom set up. I have one on my 02 Tahoe when its dark my headlights turn on automaticly. Mine is located on the center of my dash the little round red thing on the dashes of gm trucks Exactly what im talking about. Would have to see the wiring schematics on that to say how I would wire it though. I don't think you'll be able to grab a trigger from the sensor itself, would likely have to grab from the headlight circuit. Edit: 98s dont have em. Bacy2k Posted January 12, 2012 Report Share Posted January 12, 2012 if you already have it wired to turn on when your doors are open, just simply put a switch in between and turn the stitch on when it starts to get dark. then turn it off when you get in the next day. it would only light up when you open the doors, when you want it to.
