dc 5k at .5ohm on 16v

Team mates extreme vehicle had 26 d1600s with 8 5ks not dropping below 15s. So 2 to 4 depending on how hard you play. Also clamped a single 5k in that setup pulling 7040 watts @ a little over 1ohm.

i have 9 d1600's , a singer 400a alt , 4 runs of 0g and copper bussbars on 1 of my 9k's @ .7ohm and i drop to 15.9 at full tilt at idle.

im with CJ, get 4-5 batts

I've got 21 xp 1000s 4 singer 400 amp alts and going to have 8 dc 5ks.

I would say 4 batts all day.

whats a 'safe' voltage to drop using 16v batts >/?...

whatever the resting voltage of any battery is... IMO. :shrug:

thats what i always preach , my friends call me crazy because i have 9 batts and want 9 more :trippy:

I agree with this 100%. Once you dip below the resting voltage of your batteries, you know that your alternator is maxed out and you are now relying on your battery bank to supply the rest of the power needed. The more batteries you have, the longer you will be able to sustain a higher voltage= MORE POWER FOR LONGER!!!! Personally I say no voltage drop is the only way to go. For me it took making the only triple bracket for an F150 that I have ever seen, 2 Singer 350a alts and 10 XS POwer D1400s. I drop from 15.8-15.6 full tilt after a few songs.
