Here is a couple of things to check:

1. Did you turn off sound check on itunes? (sound check will change the level of the tracks to a normalized level and the tracks will no longer be calibrated)

2. When you ripped the tracks off the disk did you use the highest bit rate available? (Low bit rates will cause distortion in some cases)

Please check every component down the signal path or test the DD-1 on another set-up to verify if defective.

You can send the DD-1 in for us to check and service if a problem exists.

thanks for the comments every one i really appreciate yalls time just hooked it up to a buddys system and it does what its supposed to do it doesnt show clipping then you turns it up and the clipping light comes on when turned to high as the dd-1 should so im guessing my clarion eqs746 has an internal issue but yes i made sure to rip the files using the loss-less like it says in the manual

Glad to hear your distortion detector is working well. Our defective rate is really really low on the tool. Glad that you've tried it out on another setup. If the distortion light is on, there is distortion somewhere. We have found the following with the DD-1 by having issues like you had:

* Bad line output convertors

* Bad ground loop isolators

* Bad iPods

* Bad headunits

* damaged amplifiers

* distorted signal processors

Its pretty amazing what it can stiff out, good luck!
