kingsuv Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 by the way how can the prototype be better than the production? there is a reason they make prototypes so they can fix the bugs before it hits the market. just my .02 on that comment It's ok that you don't know but if you would like too, then hit me up so you actually know the deal. Thanks Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
Miguels Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 lmao. I guess he used alien technology to do it. This shop is looking brighter every post. is not that the shop dont know what they are doing its that they know the OP dont know any better and are just lying about what they did. just get a sub out and check the wires and compare to the linky they posted on here my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
kraz1021 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Pretty sure they had issues with the production models. The protos are the ones that are bad ass if I recall correctly. Don't quote me on that. OP you should try working on it. This gives you a perfect starting point. You can not wire dual 1 subs to 2 ohms. There is no way. Then this is definitely the reason why. I need to get them 1 ohm wired. i dont think you get what were saying.your subs are wired to either 1ohm or 4ohms if they are dual 1s.theres NO way they are currently wired to a 2ohm load No he told me he did something extra to make him be able to wire them at 2 ohms. I'm definitely gonna give him a call tomorrow. id say all the "extra" stuff he did must be messing with his mind, theres no way way he got a final 2ohm load with 2 dual 1 subs.sounds like dude should be drug tested
DTS909 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 If I were you I would start to read up and understand about all the equipment you putting in your car. Good luck! Miguels Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 if you have problems with neighbors try listening out in a parking lot. my best advice is dont go back to that shop because you will get lie after lie and will never get it fixed just get the subs out the box and check that the wires are connected properly in the sub, that can make the amp protect every time, also check how are they wired and fix it yourself. my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

Hadec Posted January 20, 2012 Author Report Posted January 20, 2012 You really need to give more info bro. Knowing what the sub ohm load ACTUALLY is and is WIRED to at the amp is key. Don't go by what a 'shop" told you or did. Setting the gains "in the middle" sends all kinds of red flags about a shop installing anything. Go get your butt out and look at whats going on. No way of telling if its working, not or just unplugged till you SEE whats up and report back. Alright i'll go check it tomorrow because I don't want to go back there. But I am going to call them and ask out of curiosity what they say that they wired them to. Working on my first car audio build ever! Currently have: - 1996 Lexus LS400 sedan - Diablo Hellfire Proto Amplifier - (2) 12" Fi Bl Subwoofers - Vented subwoofer enclosure from Perfect Soundz - Installed by Perfect Soundz Needs: - Battery: probably XS Power 12V 2400 - "The Big 3"
Hadec Posted January 20, 2012 Author Report Posted January 20, 2012 After looking at everything i'm pretty sure it is the amplifier since the subs go in and out they seem to be working. I doubt both of them are defective. Everything is hooked up the correct way and I was misunderstood. Working on my first car audio build ever! Rebel4055 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 You probably have voltage drop. Or bad ground. Take a few pictures of how they have everything. Rest In Peace mother. January 22, 1955 - February 14, 2013 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/user/35351-megrch/
