If any of you have ever done it on this car, is it a pretty straight forward thing or something better left to the pro's? I am mechanically inclined, just have no experience with this. Should be no more than 3 bolts holding it in place. The trickiest part about doing it (for the first time) is getting the belt off, and getting your hand down into a cramped area. Not exactly sure where it is on your Monte though. BUUUUUUUUUUT depending in the car you have it might take a lot of work to get to those bolts. In my Oldsmobile I can have an alt out and a new one on there in like 10-15min. Good time to do the big 3 while you have it off too if you haven't already. Disconnect battery Disconnect wires from alternator Remove belt from alternator Remove bolts. Then reverse the steps to install the new one.
