Did the big 3 and used 1/0 wire. Tested battery before I started and I was sitting at 14.2 at idle. Did the big 3 and I am still sitting at 14.2 at idle. WTF

Stock alt and stock battery?

If so, all the big 3 will do is help the voltage drop and keep your voltage more stable. I only gained half a volt doing my big 3.

who ever said that your voltage HAS to go up with the big 3? thats only just one of the benefits of doing it. you'll probably notice now though that you wont have as much voltage drop as you did before

Big 3 doesn't necessarily up your voltage just the amperage capacity of your charging system. Your alternator's voltage might be 14.2 at idle and without an external regulator to raise the voltage it'll probably stay at 14.2

Wire doesn't increase your charging voltage, only how efficiently the power can make it from the alternator to the battery. it helps with voltage DROP not charging voltage.
