Purplehaze
Well after many many burps lol This box peaks at 45hz. The bigger port also brought my reactive load through the roof. I'm a couple tenths off of the smaller 8inch pvc (7.75in internal) but with half the power literally. Only clamping 3800 watts, just under 152. Less power is awesome but with a nominal load of .25, reacive load just over 4ohm, amp turned up as much as it can and still make power, on a 9k board sux balls!! I'll be throwing in a second amp this week (hopefully) and see what happens. No doubt! Damn I wonder why that port made so much rise? That does suck balls!!! I'm sure you all will figure it all out... thorshammer
Port is all external. Box volume is the same. Subs are 100% in control. No unloading at all. In fact they dont move enough. lol Ray.... With other vent at 3800 watts it peaked at 44/45. At 8k peak is 47/48. I expect with the other amp it will increase peak and score but again it will be limited to a very high reactive load. I'll definately test it first but I'm positive that with close to 16k on the other vent it will be louder than 8k on current one.
AMI CUSTOMS
By changing port you changed tuning, by changing tuning you change you imp rise curve and change your power output curve the amp is producing. You also change your f3 point by adding port area which can raise your peak by raising your f3. kirill007
Vibrating sheetmetal, more port equals lower peak frequency at low power. If you add more power your peak will go up, which isn't common, normally it drops. The subs were at maximum excursion with the previous port at a higher power. Changing impedance curve as AMI has said. i'm just guessing, i'm not in the same league as Ray,You or AMI. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
