How To Do The Big 3: Tutorial

nope. and there is a very good reason why you dont want to use one.

- every time that breakers goes off it degrades and that choice of protection is being less and less reliable every time it goes off.

- a fuse thermally burns up when it has surpassed its limit so you can deem it more reliable than a breaker to do so.

a fuse will be more reliable than a breaker, i rather spend a few a bucks more to keep a stash of extra fuses then to have a breaker that may or may not work when needed

good lookin' out, ive never had it trip yet so i guess u just saved my ass...lol.. im going out there and taking those off and tossing the fuses back in... thanks for the heads up and that i asked... never knew that....

THAT IS TRUE SUB PORN...got some sexy movement and a squirter spewsmiley.gif
Subs are like titties, They need to come in pairs because ones and threes are just wrong, and larger amounts will always draw a crowd, we all have our favorite sizes, but the bigger ones are more fun to watch move. :D

so i should use a 300amp fuse. my run might be like 5-6 feet. how will this wire catch on fire if i dont use a fuse?

might freakishly somehow pull too much current or freakishly short it out somehow....but thats what fuses are for..those rare accidents...better to be safe than sorry!

hey...i have even thrown some sparks from a battery once...i was doing something under the hood and layed a wrech down....little did i know i put it on top of the positive terminal and it touched the negative terminal...scared the shit out of me..

i mean, plenty of people go without fuses....but i never would! it isnt hard...just make sure your battery is unhooked!

Dont be a puss! You can do it! Its not hard and it wont hurt unless you hook up the wires to the wrong post! Just take your time and follow the steps!

easy for you to say. on my first attempt my car went BOOM. i blew a freegin hole through the front fender. im still paying the body shop for that one. i just want as much info on this subject before i do it. like for instance if i cannot fit the extra ring terminal on my alt what do i do? plus i have a side post battery what do i do?

i have a 92 accord and i think i used maybe 5ft for the battery to the alt (iirc...i did it like 2yrs ago). and then just a few feet for the grounds. i got a 200amp alt from irragi....and doing the big 3 shouldnt have any adverse affect..i dont know about improving the life though. i have heard that sometimes if you do the big 3 on a small stock alt. that it will cause the alt to strain and actually shorten the life of it...
