I have been chasing a squeal that is loud as fuck and every morning when the truck is cold it screams until im all the way down the street. so far I have replaced the belt, tensioner, idler pulley, water pump, and had the alternator sent to the shop to be checked and had brushes replaced. I found this video: and followed the instructions to check for alignment, and everything is perfectly aligned except the alternator, which is off by half a rib (same amount of gap shown on the video). Everything has been replaced and I suspect this alignment could fix the squeak completely. On my truck, theres basically a groove that alternator drops into and bolts up. I dont know how to bring that pulley out just a hair to be aligned properly, I just dont know how to do it... Can somebody please help me?? How do you get it off?? it has a torque bolt in the center, then a bolt around it, I dont know how to get it off... How do you get it off?
