OrionStang Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Anyone ever have this issue? When I change tracks, sometimes the bass just isn't there like it should be, even on songs I know are loud. It will stay that way for a random number of songs, then the bass is back again, for a few songs. Its done this in two different vehicles with different amps. Only thing I can figure is the rca output is fading in and out. Oh, its an Alpine 9885. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 faulty head unit maybe? If you have ahd same problem with multiple setups it cuts down the faulty component to the H/U? Thats obvious, dude. Just wondering if there is a fix to keep the rca voltage steady. Or just deal with it until my new one comes in. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
optical Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 Same rca cables used or were they different? Quote
KillaCam Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 You seem to have a lot of bad luck with your HU's lol. I had a similar problem once. My iTunes would save custom EQ settings for specific songs and I would notice that when I changed tracks it would sound way off. That could be a possibility if you use itunes. Don't know a fix if it is the rca output dropping except for new rca's or another new HU. OrionStang Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 Two cars, two systems, different rcas. Its the head unit for sure. Looking for a fix if there is one. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
HatersGonnaHate Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) I'd say just deal with it til the new one comes in... It's a temporary H/U for a reason lol. Introducing any type of "quick fix" could either damage it more, or send dirty power/signal to the amps and damage the rest of your goods. OrionStang Posted February 1, 2012 Author Report Posted February 1, 2012 This is just a loaner unit until my new one arrives. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
stevog Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 the only thing you can probably do is open up the head unit and check if it has good connections to the rca outs Quote

I don't know what would cause that, but it can be annoying. Especially when some dumbass pulls up with his distorted stock system at full volume. Go to blast him, and there's "quiet" bass.
