its an 04 E46 warranties up but I was hoping to keep the stock HU and HK speakers and just add the sub for a little more low range

Well if I am no mistaken you can still put in a aftermarket HU and still have your stock speakers work. Just need to get a harness for the HU.

oh you have factory amplifiers in the car already?! yea like baaudio said the PACL SNI-35 is only rated for 35rms input. I didn't have amps in my car so it worked for me. In your case either check out the Audiocontrol LC-2 for sure. or maybe remove stock amps

completely and go after market completely?! it would be easier. A clean OEM integration takes some careful thought!

I would not reccomend that, seeing as you need your stock HU and amp to keep chimes and updates for BMW to check your car. That link I posted should help you out a lot.

i mean keep the H/U but everything else after the source unit to be after market.

true... maybe I should look into that as an alternative option if I can't get the LOC to work

Let me clear this up for you.

Real simple.

First of all the stock subs under the front seats are bandpassed at 70hz.

Secondly, you have full range 20-20k right at your headunit

The amp only drives a few of the speakers. The deck actually runs the front and rear components.

So. Blue twisted pair at radio

That should do it for you.

Sorry for the 35posts about your "Cheap loc"..

cheap or not it sounds good! but i agree! directly behind the head unit is easiest to access wires and you know 100% what signal you are getting.

is that for a E90? in my car (E46) HU sends audio signal to an amp located on the left side of the trunk which then sends wires to the components in the cab of the vehicle. There was a second amp specifically for the rear deck mounted 6x9 subs which was attached to the left sub and fed the 2 speakers I removed that amp when I removed the subs. the wires I tapped into (amp on the left side of the trunk) were yellow/black twisted with brown orange and blue black twisted with brown orange
