fyerbyrd22
so i went to go use the dd-1 on a friends hu and it didnt work...it would read a signal sometimes but never would read a 40hz or 1khz signal...tried it with every track...amp is a apsm-1000 and headunit is a alpine cde-102...had everything flat on headunit and frequency on amp all the way up...had probe in the speaker positive and neg gator clip on the bolt the amp was grounded too...also tried grounding it directly to the amp...never got a 40hz or 1khz detect regardless...anyone one else have any problems??...im almost positive its something i did, i just cant figure out what it could be though i put a brand new battery in so i kno thats not the problem too Quote personal build in progress http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188656-2013-kia-sorento-6-12-no-wall/ www.facebook.com/TurbulentDesigns

SnowDrifter
More often than not, the RCA preouts on the HU don't push enough voltage for the dd-1 to read properly(save for the 4v preout ones). Try setting it with an amp plugged into the RCAs or just through the speaker outs. Edit: Looks like you have a 2v head unit. You might want to just find/borrow a full range amp to set gains Edited February 6, 2012 by SnowDrifter Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Decaf
did you have sub level on +15 when trying 40hz? did you have it switched to sub preout, not rear? if it was on rear did you have the HPF on? smd dd-1 goes from 1.2v to 125v you need .75v to get signal light to turn on Edited February 6, 2012 by Decaf

bobwires
if you hear sub bass coming out the amp, the dd1 should pick it up off the rca's........ do you hear anything when you plug it in? Quote Tuani Fabrication Wasilla, AK
