TeamHT Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Amps hours is useless when looking for a battery used in a car audio setup. You are not trying to pull 5 amps per hour for 20 hours. Reserve capacity is what you want to look at. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Miguels Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 ugh why pay for a 265a alt then buy 2 more extra batteries when you could get a 350a alt for just $150 more instead of spending $450 to $500 on 2 more batteries, not to mention the weight you will save with a bigger alt, it will cost you more in the long run having extra batteries since you will have to replace 5 batteries instead of one alt plus the fuel saving due to lighter weight. there is many things to look at before buying an alt. if its not putting out enough amperage for the demand it will fail on you so just go with the bigger alt and save yourself time money and problems my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

liljestrand Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 I have a bc5500 ATM. On it I got a 320 amp DC alt. 3x xsd3100's. And a blue top under the hood. Soon to be a 3400. 2/0 welding cable front to back for pos. I usually sit at 14.5ish at full tilt at 2k rpm. And at idle its like 13 with no light dimming. Of this helps at all. Team B2 2008 scion xb bagged on 18's plastidipped matte black 4 18" b2 xc's pushed by 4 b2 m1s at .5 each 8 b2 hn6's and 2 b2 hntt's powered by 2 b2 quattros. 157.7 sealed so far.
