Circular Saw rip guide vs table saw

for a guide I use a 1/2" x 4" strip attatched to the top of a 1/4" or 1/8" x ~8" strip. the guard on the saw will run along the 1/2" piece and the saw will cut the thinner piece. once you do that you have a guide that you can put exactly on your cut. you dont have to measure from the guide to the blade.

you probably are better off with the circular saw over the table saw if all you are going to buy is one of the cheap portable table saws.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Im sure there must be cheaper versions, but I know Festool makes a circular saw that runs along a track. But anyone whose heard of Festool knows how much your gonna spend on there tools. Ive used a piece of aluminum L bracket before, but like you said the saw could still wander. the more you practice with it the better you'll get.

the festool looks bad ass but dewalt and makita also make nice tracksaw options too imo the track is a better option than a pannel saw because tecnicly u could replace your pannelsaw table saw and skill saw with it. heres a review of them

I got a woodworking magazine that has plans to make a pretty bad ass DIY panel saw using a circular saw.

or you could clamp a straight edge and do a flush trim with router. will at least be dead on. but bits are high and dont last like a saw blade. Also lots of dust.

Big pieces are never fun to cut.

This is pretty much what I use.. I just screwed a 1 inch wide peice of mdf ontop of another peice that was about 4-6 inches wide then ran the saw down with the rail tight against the 1 inch peice so it made a guide that is exactly where the blade is gonna cut... then you just clamp the guide on and get straight cuts everytime as long as you keep the saw againt the guide..

Also dont forget to take into account the 1/8 the blade is going to cut off

I am a tablesaw man, I purchased a T.S from home depot for 129.00, built a table around it, so I could cut full sheets and it worked good till i was able to buy my cabinet saw!

I bought this not to long ago after being frustrated with not having a table saw.

skill saw, a tape measure usually 1.5 inches from your cut (just measure the outside to the blade)

a straightedge, I use a huge ruler and a nice SQUARE piece of wood.

CHeck measurements again and again, cut slow and wear eye protection so you can put you head near the line and make sure your cut is straight.

It's not hard just tedious to do right, as with everything
