AMI CUSTOMS
Thanks for the advice bro. Do you have any pics of you grounding the bracket to the frame? No, I sure don't and it is really hard to see with everything in there now, but all I did was weld a 5/16 bolt to the back bracket plate and then weld another 5/16 bolt to the top of frame on the A-Arm bracket which is nice and flat. Then installed 4 1/0 wires between those to points about 8 inches each, also ran a 1/0 ground the battery negative from the frame bolt as well. SmallTruk
This is sick bro, awesome work! I like the idea of being able to switch off some of the alts when not needed to free up some power.
Junior Russell
looking good ! one question thou , wont you damage the alts by having them 'off' while their spinning/truck running ? No they are just acting like an idle pulley when off, mechman said they will be fine. but wouldnt they have a different spin resistance (be harder to spin) than a regular idler pulley? http://www.youtube.c...e1?feature=mheehttp://www.stevemead...87#entry1993187 JVC KD-R530 head unit VVME INNO-D1500 sub amp Kenwood KAC-8402 amplifierPioneer 2-way 6.5 X2 @ 4 ohms DTI Audio 6.5 X2 @ 4 ohmsbox: 4.24 ft^3 tuned to 61 hertz (port walls fell off and dissapeared )

No they are just acting like an idle pulley when off, mechman said they will be fine. but wouldnt they have a different spin resistance (be harder to spin) than a regular idler pulley? Of course but not nearly as much as when they are charging and outputting current if they are only putting out 10 amps why have them on? It is a really nice feature to have, there were times with my old alts that when I was backing up all four running would pull the idle down so much that it would stall the truck. That doesn't happen with just two charging/spinning plus my idle is higher now too so..... Junior Russell
sounds good man but from the way im understaning it id rather have control over each one individually instead of 2 at a time you know? and to your question to the other dude isnt it better to use the frame when you have that many amps? anyways your under hood looks damn sexy bro cant wait til its done hopefully by then ill have a job and be able to come get a demo http://www.youtube.c...e1?feature=mheehttp://www.stevemead...87#entry1993187 JVC KD-R530 head unit VVME INNO-D1500 sub amp Kenwood KAC-8402 amplifierPioneer 2-way 6.5 X2 @ 4 ohms DTI Audio 6.5 X2 @ 4 ohmsbox: 4.24 ft^3 tuned to 61 hertz (port walls fell off and dissapeared )

And your other question copper is a far better conductor then steel, in ANY high current install I run dedicated grounds. And any alternator manufacturer or battery company will tell you the exact same thing, hmmm I wonder why? Because it works. And you bet I will be givin out demos like crazy when it is all finished. Junior Russell
yeah i knew copper was a great conductor but didnt know how good a conductor steel is i do know that the best condutor ive heard of is gold but that gets pretty damn expensive http://www.youtube.c...e1?feature=mheehttp://www.stevemead...87#entry1993187 JVC KD-R530 head unit VVME INNO-D1500 sub amp Kenwood KAC-8402 amplifierPioneer 2-way 6.5 X2 @ 4 ohms DTI Audio 6.5 X2 @ 4 ohmsbox: 4.24 ft^3 tuned to 61 hertz (port walls fell off and dissapeared )
