dereileak
Ok so I have finally decided to get rid of my 2 cvx 15" kickers, and I want to go to 2 DC Level 4 12" Subs, But I have a few questions so ok, so a 2500.1 kicker amp is gonna be powering these at 2845 rms rated, so it matches perfect with the level 4's which do 1400 each. But what do these other options do for me All of the Questions are from this list, which are the options listed in DC's Post: "Other options available are: Carbon Fiber Dustcap Direct Leads Additional medium and stiff spiders 10" wide roll surround 10" reinforced surround Level 5 Upgrade for Level 4 " 1.I want the carbon fiber dust cap, but can I still get a red DC logo on it? 2. What are direct leads 3. Im either doing a 2 cubic foot box sealed for these 2, or a 3 cubic foot ported, not sure yet, I want to keep it small, and those are the suggested sizes on the site, either way what spider stiffness would I want to get for it being I have an amp that does 2800+ and the power system to back it up? 4, what does this do and what is it? 10" wide roll surround 10" reinforced surround 5. and being my amp matches perfect with this subs rms rating, would it be worth it to do a level 5 upgrade? Thanks for the Help, Derek Oh and when I figure everything out im going to ask for a price shipped to 55902 Quote 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)

CJ18
1.I want the carbon fiber dust cap, but can I still get a red DC logo on it? Yes and no. Red is not an option that we offer, but you could get a logo made by techforce. Another option that we have is the red/black carbon kevlar dustcaps. 2. What are direct leads Direct leads are 8ga wires that are directly attached to the leads instead of the leads being soldered to the push terminals. 3. 10" wide roll surround 10" reinforced surround For your power, the stock spider pack that comes on the Level 4s will be just fine. The only time that extra spiders are needed is when substantially more power than rated is going to be put to the subs. The wide roll surround is only available with the AR cone option. This is a wider surround that allows more outward travel. The reinforced surround has an extra mesh layer built into the surround for extra strength. I would recommend the ar cone and wide roll surround option. 5. and being my amp matches perfect with this subs rms rating, would it be worth it to do a level 5 upgrade? I would not worry about the XL upgrade. The Level 4 coil has been changed to a flat wire coil for the m2 version and can handle much more power than the old Level 4 coils. Of the listed upgrades, the only one that I do recommend is the AR cone with Wide Roll Surround. The others are not necessary for what you are looking to do. With the power that you are running, the standard dustcap would be just fine, the extra strength that the CF cap provides would not be a necessity and would be purely cosmetic although it would add extra strength if you added it. will77530
direct leads basically just extend the tinsel leads so instead of having terminals you have wire... adding the stiffer spiders will obviously stiffen your suspension so you can run more power to it and keep the sub within its parameters the different surrounds help with bottoming out the level five upgrade takes all the soft parts from a level five and put it on a level four motor just posting this to help cj out just incase someone hasnt gotten a pm if i didnt explain something correct please fix it ninja'd like a mofo Edited February 12, 2012 by will77530
