carshateme
Some guy who was from home depot was saying something about silicon is better than wood glue due to the fact that it doesn't warp up, it holds the wood together better, seals better, and has better texture. Is this guy shooting shit out of his ass? Going to be going to build a box and I want it top of the line of my expectations. Using 3/4 MDF. Quote New build coming soon. Bigsix
Silicone is a sealant, wood glue is a glue. Hmmmmmm.......... Ive peeled silicone right off of MDF without an issue.... You decide. Quiet
Damn, ninja'd Wood glue will hold your box together without screws... if your pieces are cut right then it holds better than screws. carshateme
Thought so. Although I used it on my box for my audiobahns and it works perfectly fine, it doesn't rattle or whatnot. But. I'm going to stick with glue. Thank you guys. Quote New build coming soon. Quiet
Just FYI use both. TItebond II to hold the box together, add screws if you want, then Silicone over the joints for a perfect seal incase one of the cuts is a tiny bit off. Quote 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. carshateme
Oh I normally use caulk to do that, but silicon would definitely work for that. Quote New build coming soon. AI James
lol ...people still use silicone and caulk. Just go heavy with the glue if your worried about it and when you butt the pieces together it will squeeze out the seams. you shouldnt EVER need silicone/caulk

Decaf
Wood glue does not work because its sticky like CA glue It works by entering the porous wood and chemically bonding the wood while under a clamping force
