LoudBimmer
Shit happens. DC is still a great company. Re-cone and a second try will fix the problem.
n8ball2013
id liek rays input on what he thought happened. Im wondering if they need a heavier cone like DDs composite cones to make it work. CJ18
Audioque is, I'm just saying. I have nothing to add but sympathy that comes with experience from blowing equipment. Even your not so average seen before unicorns. Sub is beast, regardless of fault. And the point was to share the result, not find fault. And DC fans, calm it down. Someone doesn't like DC and you guys are ready to invade Iraq all over again, lol. Subs fail, it happens. People are going to draw their own conclusions period. This sub???? http://www.audioque.com/HDC412-D1-A_p_135.html Please let me see this sub that is rated for 2000w handle 5k+ daily with NO issues, much less a 7.5k amp without blowing the thing up. OrionStang
The way the surround is attached to the cone seems to be the fail point. Should be attached directly to the paper cone, not the laminate layer. Stitched would probably be best. n8ball2013
theyve been known to take 3.5k or so but you have to be careful and that was before a 4 inch coil. It wouldnt shock me too bad if it did. i dont plan on trying it though. 1 THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. I can see where the soft parts may stand a chance, because they were designed specifically for the 12" sub and 4"vc, but does it have the motor strength to keep up with 7500w without burning alot of that power off as heat? Not bashing AQ at all, but just questioning a previous response that this is a production sub that can handle 5k+.
n8ball2013
CJ how many production woofers are available that you can realistically beat the shit out of daily on 7.5k my first thought when ken did this was youre fuckign nuts . Tinted
why send so much power to a single sub? if you are overpowering any given sub it only makes sense to get a second one. you would use your power better and will be louder.
