large gauge crimper

Recommended Posts

don't forget to use some kind of anti-rust on the dies between use.

noob question, but what do you mean by anti-rust? Some kind of grease or something?

Just coat it with a little wd40 or superlube from homedepot etc.

I didn't notice this one listed the last few times I was looking at crimpers on ebay, but I came across this one today on my late night ebay searching.

I never heard of this company, was curious if anyone had any info on them.

I have the 12 ton Hydraulic crimper, works great, and all the dies are the correct size

Fixed all my ghetto crimps on all my 1/0 in my Big 5 with a proper hydraulic crimper, car starts better, doesn't shake anymore when idling, alt whine is gone, system sounds better, and I gained .4 on the meter at a show I went to just from using the proper tool.

Best part about it, I only got it for $60 :)

Thanks Snow, now I know why you always preach about proper crimping, because it makes a good difference. :)

i have this one and its freakin awesome, harbor freight one is garbage

mine goes from 8g-4/0g, buy yours from ebay seller sarohs or mic-tools

http://www.ebay.com/...=item35b0a2803d

i use the 50mm^2 for most 1/0g

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, I just ordered one of these 12ton crimpers today, I should have it in about 2wks it seems. Do you prefer a specific brand ring lug, I need to terminate some 0awg in my engine bay for the big three and I need something corrosion resistant.

Looks like I want 1/0 tinned copper lugs, w/ some 1/2" heatshrink tube? Should I be going for a 3/8" screw hole in the lug ends? Or should I be getting 2/0 because some car audio 0awg is oversized?
