Banshee421
Is it true that a 32 hz ported box @ 3 cubes vs 32 hz in 4 cubes sounds diff using same sub?

JWBryant
I'm curious as to how it is different, is the frequency response just a little flatter? Quote Basshead-in-Training

SnowDrifter
Bigger box will play further below the tuning point, it will also be more efficient. But at the same time, have less power handling and depending on the application - might sound a bit more boomy vs. a punchy sound. I've always been partial to the sound of a larger box, but that's all personal preference. Wallaceman
could always build two box's and test it out haha. Quote Just be honest, it's always a work in progress with ever changing plans.
Banshee421
The reason i ask is I had a 5 cube at 28 hz it sound go and got ok loud. But now i built a box that is 3 cube at 32hz it is louder but i dont like the sound that much. There are more sweet spots in the 5 at 28 hz was wonder if it was because of size or the lower tune. Joe X
Not frequently you hear that the subwoofer itself has everything to do with the size of the box and the tuning frequency of the box, if you like let me know which sub is it and I will show you some plots.
