carshateme
Getting an amplifier for my mids and highs in my car, the new amp I'm getting is a MQ quart ONX4.125 and it requires front and rear RCAs...which is not on my current HU. So I'm thinking about buying the Kenwood KDC-HD552U that has the need output, cept it's 4volts. my current HU is 2 volts...will this affect my subs...or does it only really affect he mids and highs? I have to reset my gains regardless, but I just wanted to know the difference. New build coming soon. Maxim
Higher output voltage means you won't have to crank the amplifier gain as high to send the same amount of power to your speakers. To my knowledge it also increases sound quality a bit (probably due to not cranking the gain so high) wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt
kickass audio
^^ just what he said. I havent noticed that big of a difference between 2 and 4 volt systems for sound quality but i can notice the clarity a bit on some songs. The 4v system like i have now for my headunit and then adding my 3sixty,2 to get the 8v pre out voltage sounds so crystal clear than the old pioneer i had that was 2v. They worked both very well but the clarity is a little more noticeable on a higher pre-volt system. 2004 GMC Envoy1 XS power S3400 batt under the hood and 4 XS Power D3100's battery installed in the rear by the amps0 gauge power wire from front to backAlpine iva-w205 touchscreen dvd/cd/mp3/ipod/am/fm/gps headunitSundown Audio SAX-200.4 amp for my mids and highs8 gauge speaker wire from amp to woofer270 amp Mechman AltRockford Fosgate T1652-s component speakersRockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 sound processorRca's from Rockford Fosgate and Monster Cable14 gauge speaker wire for the mids and highs1 18" Ascendant Audio SMD Dual 1 ohm with custom Black & Blue carbon fiber and hand signed dustcapBox: 5.66 cubic feet net volume box tuned to 30.13Hz with 1.5" wide wooden dowels and 1.5" thick baffle1 DC Audio 5.0k amp wired to .5 ohms nominal with an imp rise of 1.35 ohms for the single AA SMD 18"Future Vision 8000k 50w bi-xenon projector HID's with 4300k 35w fog lightsLink to my build: Buildupdates/progress
MrSkippyJ
I thought the 3sixty was 5v output? A higher RCA voltage will let you keep your gain lower which lowers the amount of noise your amp puts in the system. kickass audio
My bad that was a typo. I have i believe last time i used my scope a rms of 5.5v from the 3sixty.2. But it basically is 5v rms. I type too fast sometimes lol 2004 GMC Envoy1 XS power S3400 batt under the hood and 4 XS Power D3100's battery installed in the rear by the amps0 gauge power wire from front to backAlpine iva-w205 touchscreen dvd/cd/mp3/ipod/am/fm/gps headunitSundown Audio SAX-200.4 amp for my mids and highs8 gauge speaker wire from amp to woofer270 amp Mechman AltRockford Fosgate T1652-s component speakersRockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 sound processorRca's from Rockford Fosgate and Monster Cable14 gauge speaker wire for the mids and highs1 18" Ascendant Audio SMD Dual 1 ohm with custom Black & Blue carbon fiber and hand signed dustcapBox: 5.66 cubic feet net volume box tuned to 30.13Hz with 1.5" wide wooden dowels and 1.5" thick baffle1 DC Audio 5.0k amp wired to .5 ohms nominal with an imp rise of 1.35 ohms for the single AA SMD 18"Future Vision 8000k 50w bi-xenon projector HID's with 4300k 35w fog lightsLink to my build: Buildupdates/progress
