SnowDrifter
Just out of curiosity... Why did you get a $500 sub just to skimp out on an amp that won't even utilize all of what this thing has to offer? Cadillac John
Just out of curiosity... Why did you get a $500 sub just to skimp out on an amp that won't even utilize all of what this thing has to offer? Point made. But money is rather tight. Have day and night school...which means a vary scarce income. Ive looked into the hifonics and will propably go with the 1700 or the 2400. Just trying to get my bang for the buck. Jlan Thr Smth
What a lot of people are failing to see is you don't have to give the sub "full power" for it to shine, the BTL is brutally loud even on low power.. Its an efficient woofer in terms of being able to get loud. My buddy Bo Carriaga at one time ran a whole bunch of the BAMF series, he was making almost 2k with them... and for the price that's not terrible. I too would look at some used amps or hifonics or AP or whatever. It really isn't going to matter unless your competing you will not hear a consistent audible difference between 1500w and 2000w. Because as some/most of you know that on paper you must double your power to gain 3 dB, which is the threshold of human hearing for an audible change.
