kfx400kid Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 I am trying build a box for two american bass xfl 15's, i am using the torres box calculator and have the follow box dim 20h x 38w x 24 d. The subs will fire up and the port will be facing the hatch in the center of the box. The port i want to use is 18.5h x 5w and 28d. i know that i have to make it 2.5" away from the back wall and that the port will not really be 28" long, but how long will the boards really be is were i'm stuck...... $t3v!3 G.......

It'd actually be the full width of the port from the back wall, otherwise you'd be choking it. If you're making it 2.5" away then that's talking about it in terms of the middle of the port. So the full 5" wide all the way through until it opens up to the inside of the box Build in progress

If the port is longer than the depth of the box you need to do a T port.
