Notoriousj76
So I have potential access to an ass load of 4ga welding cable... I have to run new wire to everything I'm about to install and would rather not dump hundreds on lots of 0/1 ga. So my point... Rather than running my Sundown 3000 off a single 0ga how about 2-3 runs into an aluminum block for my power and grounds?
BassMunky
try get a copper block if can, but should be fine as long as you do the same thing for the ground 3-4 runs Shakin not Stirred....my buildhttp://www.stevemead...ngle-cab-build/412 CVX And put a sealed enclosure in your trunk cut a hole in your deck and call it ported
SnowDrifter
You could... But you would also need 2-3x as many fuses. That might defeat the cost savings you are trying to attain. Have you ever considered finding some 1/0 welding cable? Just stake out your local craigs list. Great deals can be had there. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Notoriousj76
Well I have a friend of mine with like 300 feet of the stuff.... I could possible make a larger fuse block out of solid aluminum... power and ground inputs are made for it already. Honestly didnt think about the fuse issue... damn... that just means a little more work.
SnowDrifter
Only thing I could think of would be to do something like this with 3 runs of 4 gauge. That would put you slightly over the same amount of copper as 1 run of 0 gauge. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36172_Xscorpion-MANL3034P.html ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
