max.krupski Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 im looking for two 12" subs that will go well with a jl 1000/1. they need to be able to take a hard beating for two hours at a time. ( road trips ) i listen to alot of dubstep and ive gone through 7 12" 300d hertz subs they're crap lol but i had a years warranty, and now its run out lol. i play them at full blast 95% of the time so they need to be able to stay cool. local audio shop guy wants me to do 8 8"subs the rockford fosgates p2's but that could come close to 1500 after install so i was wondering what else can be done? the car is a 2010 ford fusion sport im in Canada so remember shipping shit up here can get pricey. but a plain ole sealed or ported box is only 150 here custom made. that leaves a hefty chunk for subs. Give me some input $1500 can do alot!

max.krupski Posted March 16, 2012 Author Report Posted March 16, 2012 it wasnt distortion that killed those subs btw the tinsel leads kept tearing off. those thing were garbage the rep even admited they were having prolems with the glue they were using. yea the didn't even use solder, it was like a glue to the terminals. but for real guys i need some help.
Sheena Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 if you spent anything more than like 300 a sub you'd have to get a much bigger amp. 600 a sub can literally buy you some of the best subs made. so you either need a smaller sub budget, or a much bigger amp. (but with a bigger amp comes more electrical demand, alternator, batteries, etc etc.) 09 Civic EX KDC-X395 (2) SKAR Audio VVX-12 Skar Audio SK-1500.1 4 cu ft @32 (new box and more port soon) Firing Forward not sealed off Stock 80 Amp Alt Big 3 In 1/0 Knu 2 Runs To The Back 1 Pos 1 Neg In 1/0 Knu DD-1'd 13.8v drop
