RickyFriery97 Posted March 16, 2012 Report Share Posted March 16, 2012 I'm bout to throw my freshly reconed XL 18" in my single 18" box to loosen it up before I build my 2 18" box. It's has direct leads with knu CCA 8 gauge. The 8 gauge lead coming of my RF T2500BDCP that runs into the box and will be soldered to the direct leads is OFC though. Will that cause any problems or non at all? If he is in anyway insinuating that is what causing the amps to blow I would seriously question any advice he gives you! The most it will do if you mix the 2 types of wire is make all the wire act as if it is CCA wire since CCA wire is not as resistant as the OFC wire. Its like using 2 different speed memory sticks in a computer. Sure both sticks of ram are lets say 24pin DDR3 2gb sticks of memory, but 1 stick is 1600mhz, and the other stick is 1333mhz. Your computer will recognize both sticks of ram at the slower speed of 1333. (at least it how it use to be back in the day). Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

AA98hoe Posted March 17, 2012 Report Share Posted March 17, 2012 I was having protect issues and then blowing subs... if you run multiple subs with different wires and overpower them like I was then I can see the possibility of to small of wire or copper and aluminum being a possible issue...on a average system I doubt there ..would be any issue ..for exampl if you run 2k through one side of the voicecoil through copper wire then run 2k to the other voicecoil with aluminum would there be a possible issue?
