3sixty.2 setup

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

so recently I installed 3sixty in my car.. I got it about 2 years ago but my wires were bad and I had to take it out cause I couldnt stay the alternator sound..

I had changed all wires RCAs, 0gauge, big3 and I dont hear the alt sound at all..

My current system

Alpine cda117

Rockford t600.4

TypeR 2way front , 6x9 rear

sony xplode 900watt(for now)

Rockford p2s 12"

Stinger Capacitor (grounded to the frame)

XS3400 under the hood

Singer 180 amp on the way (should be here nxt week week)

Big3 - grounding to the frame and engine block

2 runs of Knukonceptz 0 gauge (one positive one neg)

Knukonceptz RCAs

The problem which I have is that Im not sure how to set up the 3sixty correctly.. I know that I should follow the manual but english is my second language and its very confusing for me..

First thing is that on my HU I have sub lvl output.. should I leave it all the way up ?

Second Im not sure how to adjust the RCAs levels on the 3sixty and amps gains..

3sixy has output for sub and center channel right under it.. should I run just one rca to the sub amp ? and dont connect to center one?

Can anybody explain how to set it up step by step?

ok.. from this what I understood, after I make all connections (except the bass knob) I supposed to put all gain of the amps down..

and I need to find out on which lvl my HU is clipin.. - I dont know how to do that.. I think I will just go to 3/4 volume up so to about 27 (35 max)

than I adjust the RCA's input levels to find out when its cliping...

and than I tune it in my MacBook..

the question is when I supposed to put all gains of the amp up? and how I should tune the amps? I mean I just tune it to make it sound "good" and than play with the 3sixty?

Do you have all the software? you need to scope or dd-1 your amp to find where it clips.

Fyi the software should be the same. you may need to run it in compatibility mode though.

To answer your questions in the first post.

this acts as a linedriver right? if so I would have it at 0

If its acting like a linedriver you adjust the line driver portion which would be the RCA levels. Id probably put it about 4-5 volts depending on what the max input your amps take

If you do not have a center channel setup do not plug RCAS into it. Its for surround sound etc. most cars do not you can try to run a phantom center channel but thats not easy. I wouldnt worry about the center channel.

before you do that you find maximum clean output from your head unit

then set up the 360 then

After you setup the 360 for the rca levels you set your amp gains.

then after that you start dialing in your crossovers etc

It is not a beginner piece at all.

I know this doesn't help much but every CDA 117 I've tested or seen tested doesn't clip full 35/35 through front/rear/sub preouts. I'd highly reccomend scoping/dd1 on all your equipment tho. Also leave the subwoofer level at +15 on almost all alpine units.

im thinkin about getting dd1 but later when I get new sub and amp and 2 xp3000 or 2 in the back.. I never put it all the way up and I dont drop my voltage under 13.5

anybody knows where I can download software for 3sixty for windows 7 64bit ?

And yes I have the CD with software but it dont work..

The compatable software is the biggest complaint with the unit, in that its a short list, out dated, and no MAC use at all... get your self a compatable older palm, and install the OS per the manual, the compatable list is also in the manual... Took all of 45 seconds for mine to install and connect (unit went from red to blue) via blue tooth....

If you arent able to get it connected, setting up all the other stuff (and its a loooong list with this unit) is kinda a second thought....
