i put the 2 ap 1500's in today and when i was tunning them with the dd-1 i couldnt turn the gain up. i checked the headunit and it wasnt distorting but when i would hook up the amps (strapped) it said it was distorting with gain and bass boost all the way doww. what do you guys think it could be?

EDIT:

the equipment is ...

kenwood kdc-448u

2 audiopipe ap1500's

2 runs of knu 1/0 to battery and memphis 4gauge from battery to amps.

If the amps are strapped, don't you only set the gain on the master?

Check both individually. Use the one that has the LEAST gain as the master. Then just set the settings on the master.

Your second amp is on slave mode, right?
