Guest
using the DMM may be your problem. amps getting warm is normal. its starting to get hotter outside. sub getting warm is probably clipping
MD7786
Well its a jl 1000/1amp and thats how they said to set it according to ohms. How could i fix clipping short of having to buy the dd1
That1Kid
A DD-1 or an oscope are the only ways to be sure you aren't clipping. Head units clip, also. -98' Ford Expedition (Rest in Peace) -AVH-P3300BT -Crescendo BC5500 -4 18" DC m2 Level 3.
sprkn_ranger
You could ask around and see if you live near someone who has a DD-1. Or maybe take it to a shop and pay them to set the gains. But the only way to get it right is to use an o-scope or DD-1 Check out my build log! 4 Havocs in a blowthrough http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/187506-sprkn-rangers-blowthrough-build/
