Sub pops when i play it at low volume.....need help

Recommended Posts

So i currently have a Re audio SE10˝in my trunk which is being powered by an Alpine Mrp M1000, at 2 ohm (sub is D4 wired down to 2 ohms)

The sub is packed in a sealed box, and there is no air leaking between the sub or the box (checked that first).

my connections are also good,

the weird thing starts when i start playing some music at low volumes and the Sub starts with a popping noise

could it be possibly that one of the tinsel leads slaps?

or is there any other problem?

i will upload a video of the sub popping tomorrow when i get the chance...

thanks in advance

weird...try taking the sub out and playing it at volume that would normally cause the popping. see if it causes it then. if it does you could probably pinpoint it a little better where its coming from

Try a different sub. Then you'll know whether it's the sub or the amp.

I've seen it happen when people have had their subs wired ridiculously low, or the amp isn't getting good voltage. Try grounding it in a different spot.

If it is an actual popping noise try to look at the coil if you can. You may have 'slinky'd' it and it is shorting out on itself.
