IndianaBassHead
Honestly not sure about the port dimensions. My good friend owns a car audio shop and built the box. I just did the install. subs up and port up. but the box is sitting to where its angled towars the back hatch of the car. And thanks sheena! But I noticed it sounds better if I push down on the box. IndianaBassHead
and also, greg from re audio designed the box for me so I don't think that's the problem. Right now I'm assuming it's from the box jumping and not much room from the box to the hatch it bounces off of. jrchevy87
i had my box on bare metal and 35 hz and below it just sounded like shit, the bass was good but i could just hear everything in the rear resonate, even after i put the l brackets in it still did it, so for shits and giggles i threw a piece of carpet under the box and now its nice and clean (o and i had to remove my rear wiper cover cuz it rattled like crazy too) it was just the floor was resonating against the bottom of the box. IndianaBassHead
thanks a lot jrchevy! i will definitely try that. gotta figure out a way to get under the box first though. and I will measure the port orionstang but at the moment the car is locked up in the garage and I'm inside about to fall asleep lol. Thanks for all the help though everybody. I guess i never really realized how much of a difference carpet makes on the box. I also thought about using some of that spray foam that hardens when it dries (can't remember what it's called) and spraying it all under the box to hold it down and reduce noise. You guys think that would work? jrchevy87
i got some stiff carpet for covering boxes and just lifted the box up enough to slide it under cuz i was in a rush, had to take a trip and didnt feel like dealing with the rattle box lol, but it slid in easily. i dont think the spray foam would be adhesive enough to hold the box but if u could lift the box enough and spray it in it would deffinately stop any rattling Edited March 30, 2012 by jrchevy87 Quote Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
