Thanks guys. I've got the idea concept down for my doors too. I have to now decide if I want to use the door panels or not. I'm leaning to not, but we'll see how it works out.

Also just ordered my RCA's so those will be here next week. I've got some work to do this weekend.

Did anyone have any other suggestions on the port? Should I change it, would it be fine straight? I'm curious before I go tearing into it since I've got huge beads of wood glue laid down now and it's dry. I may still have to pull it up anyway, cause I forgot to round the edges on the inside. Thoughts anyone?

If you got the space on the side of the box, I don't see why that port shouldn't work. Isn't it normal to fire it to the side in those kind of trucks?

Just go to town on the port with a rough sand paper

That's a good idea too. I have to sand it all anyway. But what about the port facing straight at the subs? Won't that cause unloading issues? That's my main concern. Shouldn't I bend it or something?

I wish I knew a definate answer to that, for us both to know.. But my gut feeling somehow tells me it should work.

Or throw a slight angle in there, or change it up to a L or S port, idk.. I guess you have allready looked at many solutions.

I keep looking at it and something is telling me to put an L, or bend, into it. SO like it sits now, either bend it up or back toward the side. I'm most likely going to do it anyway, but I was dreading it now cause of the amount of wood glue I used. It's gonna be a bitch to get back off now! Oh well!

Here's another question for you guys, and don't give me the "just do it" or "wall that bitch" answer. I would like some real input here. Remember what I'm working with for enclosure area. It's a work box that I already have, that totals in 68"wide x 22" deep (might be 24 I'm going off memory) x 18" tall. Would I be better off with a standard ported box with the 4 - 12's, a 4th order with 2 - 12's (unless I could fit 4 12's in a 4th order in there), or 2 - 15's in a 4th order?

I'm in for suggestions. Right now I'm planning to stick with the 4 - 12's ported, but my thought was that if I could some how do just the port through the cabin and truck bed, it would be less cutting and less intrusion. A 4th for the 12's should be 2:1 right? So maybe 1 cu ft sealed side and 2 ported per sub maybe? Someone wanna help me design one? I'm thinking if i could do the 4th order, it'll take up the whole box, so I'm gonna have to move the amps and batteries out of there which won't be an issue, but I could get fancy with a plexi glass top on it. So when you open the box top up, you see the subs! Mmmmmmmmm!!! Yummy!!

Ok. That's right I remember that. I'll just seal it up and see what it does. It's only temporary after all.

On another note......I have a new design thought for the real sub build btw! I posted a thread on it, here to check with folks who have way more knowledge than I do. But it boils down to my fear of cutting too much of that rear wall out for the blow through. I'd have to rearrange some stuff, but here's what I came up with!

Sealed - although this is wrong, I had the displacement at .18 and it should be at .36. So instead of 2.40 cu ft per pair, I'd have 2.22 cu ft per pair. Approx 1.11 per sub.

This is what you'd see if you pulled up the rear seat back in the cabin. This is all I'd have to cut out of the back wall if this will work! I'm much more at ease with that!

Curious Follower - So Scooter, where you gonna put the amps then!?! They're kinda large you're not gonna have space cause you're already rebuilding the rear seat back for the other three amps. No space under the rear seat. What the hell you gonna do!?!

Ok here it is. I changed it up. I couldn't get a 45hz tune with that design. Not enough room to widen the port. But I did some rearranging and this is where I'm at! I think this is gonna work and I'm excited about it.

Here's the design. I basically just rotated the sealed chambers to the sides and I get more ported and the ability to widen the port.

Now the only question is, do I give myself more sealed area and mount the subs with the motor into the ported section, it gives me .36 cu ft more for both sealed chambers. But it also takes .72 cu ft away from the ported chambers. What do you guys think?
