Alright. What am I doing wrong?

So I got my box pretty much done today. I went to hook it up pretty hastily, nothing permanent, just some testing. Everything was going all right, I disconnected both battery terminals, wired the sub to the amp, put the power and ground in, and hooked the power back up to the terminal. When I went to hook up the ground to the battery, HUGE spark. I tried taking the fuse out from the battery to amp. No spark. Tried to put the fuse back, ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE FUCKIN SPARK. It's been a few weeks since I last did anything install wise, but its how I remember normally doing it. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?

maybe the remote wire is touching a constant power source or a wire frayed onto the +12v wire of the amp? Id try to do this.

1.) Disconnect the fuse from your positive wire going from the battery to the amp

2.) Disconnect the power and ground wires going to the amp as well as the remote turn on wire

3.) Inspect the end of those wires to see if they are frayed at all, if they are put some electrical tape on the outside of them or solder them so its a solid wire

4.) Screw down just the positive and ground on the amp and replace the fuse. It may spark but it shouldnt be anything too bad depending on how huge of an amp you are running

5.) If the spark is minimal (shouldnt be anything more than if you shuffled your feet on carpeting and touched a door knob) then uninstall the fuse and install the remote turn on wire and then reinstall the fuse

6.) see if the amp turns on and off

Another thing you can do would be to disconnect the fuse and disconnect the wires going to the amp and test them with a volt meter just to make sure the polarity is correct. It kinda sounds like a wire is shorting out on the case of the amp or something. If you still have a problem send pics of where the wires connect to the amp.

I ran into this similar problem a while ago. I was tuning with the dd1 and accidentaly touched the probe on channel 3 and was tuning channels 1/2, and fried the outputs from what crescendo thinks.

Oh man I spent all day with a similar problem. About six fuses and four hours later I found out that it was a bad spot in the remote wire. I learned my lesson, do it right the first time.
