Just feel that my voltage drops to low at idle with the sterep only 1/2 way and gain under 1/2. Voltage drops down way low 13.5 4s. Any way to test a weak alt? Is it possible to damage or weaken an alternator?

13.4 is good voltage my friend.. Your alternator is perfectly fine and nothing will be damaged

Full tilt i think i ve see 12.6 but on a de af song or so ive seen 11.8 then cut the volume off. Think its time for a new batt this ones 5 years old

lol, that could be it too. Where are you measuring from? I thought my alt was going on my last car but if I measured from alt+ to engine block I got 14.8 while the batt was only seeing 13.8. turned out to be a bad ground :unknw: Just thought I'd throw my experiences out there if it helps you.

My stinger meter is on my amp. At idle they battery and volt meter(amp) match up. I will check the voltage at full tilt on battery and on alt.
