ok hold up. I HAVE HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM when i had 2 2512s. Everything sounds fine up front hittin greal hard and all, then i go to the back and can hear a clicking noise from one of the subs. Now it only happens at higher volume. I don't know the exact reason. all I know is I had them in only 1.9 cubes net apiece in a single chamber port on one side box. so i thought wow i really fucked this box up. which i did but it was all i could fit in my car (now i have 2 2510s). so i went on to make a "perfect" box for 1 2512. the one that didnt make a clicking noise sounded great. then i put other clicking sub in and it still did same thing. clicking noise and all. couldnt hear it up front but i didnt like to hear that in the back after paying so much. but it played fine for months and i bumped the shit out of it no problems. just had the clicking noise. no idea what it was. so pretty much i didn't want the hassle of sending it back and sold it. the kid i sold it to was an idiot and fried the sub. so i bought motor back and reconed to a 2510. so now i have 2 2510s no clicking at all. my guess is how ever they put 2512s together sometimes if they are off a little since they are hand built oyu will get that result. i noticed on coil that it seems to rub inside of pole piece. i can take picture tomorrow to show what im talking about. i say call up DD for a manufacturer warranty. as long as you didnt abuse it, they should replace for you.

edit: btw those boxes are horrific ahah. give them 5 cubes net with around 70-80 sq of port with about 17 inches per cube and youll be golden. tune around 37 hz. and subs displacement are only like .08 for each 12.

Thank you sir. I am trying to design a new box right now so I can get it cut before noon. Ill throw something together and post it here. The kid went the next morning to the audio shop we use and asked them why it was clicking they said of course the box is too big and he should just use the 4.cube box they sold him that has as much port as cubes for the speakers. The kid knew exactly when I did that the speaker was clicking. we built the box together. And I told him that he would be fine just dont make it click till i fix it. So dont turn it past 36/40 etc...

This is what happened Capturebox.png

This is how it got so screwed up.

After I found out that I put the dimensions in for a round and slot port I fixed it and it came to 30 something Hz etc,,, Im going to cry myself to sleep now thank you for all that responded

Edit: No that really dont show anything except that on top of building a box to big I had a hard time doing it too.uhm?

i told you in your last thread before you even made the box, that what you're showing right there, you told the calc that you're using both a slot port and a circle port.

edit: you should probably hit F1 and read the instructions

yeah I know. thats how I found this pic. I fixed the ports and got tuning up and went in cut it.I was rushed the whole time im trying to get the measurements, hes sitting across from me huffing and puffing and getting board.Which at the time i didnt pay attention to it, it just made me rush.So yeah

tell his bitch ass to wait then. if i was building a box and my "customer" was huffing and puffing, i would tell his ass to go home and i'll call him when its finished. quality products take time to make.

Don't know if it's been said as well, but you have 5 cubic feet in there as your desired net volume at the bottom right. Meaning that the actual dimensions you entered for the box aren't being taken into effect. The 5 cu ft is cancelling out the 16x37x24 you entered

My girl is rushing me now! I cant catch a break. Does this look good is there anything you would do different. I am all ears so please let me know what you would do

newboxdesign.png

I changed port length to 16.25 and added .6 for displacement and the net is 5.02 and Hz is 37.67

try these numbers in torres calc to see if thats closer to DD's specs has to sound better than what you already built

sub up...port back

box dims...16h..37w..24d

port dims...14.5h..5w...19L

.6 sub displacement

3 common port walls

37.11hz....4.97net volume...14.59port per cubic foot

ports up subs back for 2 12's in this tahoe doesnt sound good. I would like for everything to fire back so it has no choice put to come forward. I think that is a good design though just with subs back too

sub up port back is DIFFERENT than sub back port up. i dont know why you would ever do sub back port up in an suv.
