I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

I would suggest running a ground back to the battery. Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. I would suggest running a ground back to the battery. Yeah, my stock batt is in the trunk anyways. So the factory ground in in the trunk I checked it with DMM and it seems good. So if i wanted to make another one i would just sand the metal bare anywhere? and check with dmm? God damn unibody cars. I assume the factory ground would be solid. I hope. You would be better off grounding to the battery since it's there. I would suggest that at some point you do a big 3, In your case it means running both pos and a ground from the alt to the battery all the way in the back.
