Purplehaze Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) Okay, so I picked up some aluminum yesterday, and I wanna try to make some bus bars for my front batts. My plan is to move my rear batt to the front, and connect the two with bus bars. Then it will be easier to run wire to the rear bank. My question is, what is best to drill it with? And, what should I use to polish it up? And, did I get the right aluminum? It's 1/4" x 1", is that thick enough? Thanks fellas EDIT: Here are some pics of the finished product. Emmet Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Yeah you can use a high or low speed, aluminium (way we spell it here ) is a soft metal so it doesnt matter, same with using a lubricant, doesnt really matter since its alu but can give you a better finish on the hole, less wear on drill bits too But like they said, drill press and clamps pretty much.
