Multiple runs of 4 ga?

I currently have 1 4ga power wire running to from the battery up front to the back in my uncles car for his bass amp. Roughly 800-900w RMS as currently connected. I'll be adding a second amp soon for the mids/highs. Do I need to make another run of 4ga, or can I safely and correctly use that current wire into a distribution block, that outputs into two 4ga?

You would be better off having multiple runs instead of that distro block. 4 ga is cutting it close for the wattage and distance you are running it. I would go with multiple runs of 4ga or even better a run of 1/0 into a distribution block into 4 gauge coming out to the amps

With an average sized four channel that wire will be fine as long as it is GOOD 4ga not POS knock off cheap rubber wire.

the 4ga I have is from KnuKonceptz.

I think I'm going to just get another 4ga kit, but go with the cheaper one.

I would say keep the 4awg for the mids/highs amp and run 0awg wire for the sub amp, and since mostly likely the amp won't accept that big sized wire, get a 0awg to 4awg reducer.. this will leave room for upgrading in the future and will help for current flow.. jmo.

A good 4ga can move enough current for a 1k sub amp and interiors amp. I know this is a forum of a million runs of 0ga but seriously a good quality 4ga can handle that job. Is 0ga better? yes. is it crucial? no.
